DBS's Payment Controls let you set a monthly spending limit on your credit or debit card. It's a simple way to cap online and ecommerce spending — you can turn it on or off and change the amount yourself at any time, in the digibank app or on digibank Online.
Before you start
- The DBS digibank app, or access to digibank Online
- Your digibank User ID and PIN (or Touch/Face ID on the app)
💡 Tip: The monthly spend limit is a payment control that caps how much the card can spend in a calendar month — it's separate from your overall credit limit, and you can switch it off or change it any time.

Yes — you can set a monthly spending limit on both DBS credit and debit cards through Payment Controls.
Is this the same as my credit limit?
No. The monthly spend limit is a self-service cap on how much the card can spend each month; your overall credit limit is separate.

Log in to the app
Log in to digibank mobile with Touch/Face ID or your digibank User ID and PIN.

Open Payment Controls
Tap "More", then "Payment Controls" under Manage Cards & Loans.

Select the card
Choose the card you want to cap, then tap "Set a Monthly Spend Limit".

Turn the limit on
Toggle the switch on to enable your card's monthly spend limit.

Enter the amount
Enter your preferred monthly spending limit and tap Next.

Confirm
Review the details and tap Set Limit.

Your monthly spending limit is now active.

Log in to digibank Online
Go to dbs.com.sg and log in with your User ID and PIN.

Complete 2FA
Approve the authentication request to verify it's you.

Open your card
Under Home, go to Cards and select the card you want to cap.

Open Monthly spending limit
Click Manage, then "Monthly spending limit".

Set the amount
Enable the feature, enter your preferred amount and click Next.

Verify
Review the details and click Set limit.

Confirmation
Your monthly spending limit is set.
