What it means
The PIN entered does not match the PIN on record for the card (applies to card-present or PIN-based transactions).
Why it happens
The cardholder mistyped the PIN or entered the wrong PIN.
If you’re the cardholder
Re-enter the correct PIN.
If you’re the merchant
Prompt for the PIN again; repeated failures may lock the card.
