Do Not Honor
What it means
A generic refusal from the card issuer that declines the transaction without giving a specific reason. It is one of the most common decline responses.
Why it happens
The issuer's authorization system rejected the charge based on internal rules such as risk scoring, account status, or unusual activity, but returned no detailed reason.
If you’re the cardholder
Contact your card issuer to find out why the card was declined, then try again or use another card.
If you’re the merchant
Do not silently retry the same card; prompt the customer to contact their bank or use a different payment method.
